To read a student’s novel, click the title of their novel, either from the Novels or Admin section of your classroom. Once their novel is open, you can make changes directly to it to edit. However, be careful! If a student has the novel opened simultaneously, chaos could ensue.
Overall, if your plan is to edit student work, you may be better off assigning work outside of our online writing space. Using a writing tool with features like those you can find in Google Docs will allow you to comment on student work, track changes, use version control, and allow them to see your suggestions in ways that support their learning. If you change their work in the YWP writing space, they won't be able to see what you changed and the ability to learn from your edits is questionable.
If your plan is simply to monitor their progress and read what they've written, the YWP space can accommodate that. You can also use the Notes feature to communicate directly with students about their work.
